How can I come back?
I've been playing Guild Wars since its release and I have played until right before Nightfall was released. Now that GW2 is coming (in a long time), I would like to know if there is any way I can get back into the game? I logged back on and I have no idea what's going on and I don't even have that many skills considering how many hours I put into the game. I'm thinking of purchasing GW:EN just so I can find one random title to grind up to just because, but I don't know about whether or not it'll be a waste because I'll probably just give up and play the game for a few days. Can I join a friendly guild with vent just so I can jump back in a find random stuff to do? (The SC2 Beta just ended temporarily so I'm pretty much just lurking around on the internet finding a game to get addicted to)

If you are looking for a guild, then check out what's available or make your own thread in Guild Connections here on guru.
The best way to relearn the game is to start a new character (if you have any empty slot) and start from the beginning. You don't need GW:EN to earn titles, just to put them in your Hall of Monuments. Welcome back and have fun.

Agreed, starting a new character (if you're keen) would be a good way to get back. I've been on and off this game since release and always make a new character when I come back. GW:EN is a lot of fun and well worth it, if you think you'll carry on playing, get it.

Buy NF, finish it. Then buy GWEN, finish it. Now you can start grinding If you want to grind random title, I'd suggest sunspear and keeping eye on Zaishen Bounties to get some new stuff like equipment bags. |

No point in grinding titles unless you actually feel you want to, most aren't actually fun - so play the game FIRST then do whatever else you like.
You can do things like cartography and vanquishing at the same time so that would be my suggestion - and while you're at it you could cap some elites as well. |

Well, I'm kind of an achievement RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO so I really want something for GW2. Do I need GWEN to transfer the titles? or do I not need the HoM?

Yes. All bonuses are dependent on what is in the HoM. Just having something isn't good enough.

Unless you are primarily interested in the campaigns/story, wait for GW2. Beyond that, it's mostly grinding/farming. And PvP isn't worth the effort for new players to try and get into.
edt: WC3 has been keeping my attention while beta is down. Or play BW if you wanna stay in shape. Last edited by tealspikes; Jun 23, 2010 at 10:48 PM // 22:48.. |

Kinda like the /bonus items. You'll most likely not using the things you get from HoM anyway, so don't waste time grinding titles if you don't want to. |

What if the bonus is something like the Divine Aura, which is purely aesthetic, yet thousands of us would give our left testicle to obtain?
